Stalin's cultural policy of intellectual genocide

It is 5:15 PM Sunday evening here in West Michigan. The sun came out this afternoon. The sun came out as I was dozing in Carol's recliner chair. I miss my wife. We talked for an hour this morning over the phone. She had to hang up because she had to eat breakfast and get ready to go to church.

I spent the afternoon mainly writing in my paper diary and messing with our main computer. I got out to read this evening these two books-

'The Red Prince: The Fall of a Dynasty and the Rise of Modern Europe' by Timothy Snyder

'From Peoples into Nations: A History of Eastern Europe' by John Connelly

Late this afternoon I finally decided to go to Family Fare grocery store and buy some comfort food. Before going to Family Fare grocery store I visited across the street a Goodwill Thrift Store to look at their used books. At Goodwill I found five old used books to add to my library-

'Samarkland' A Novel by Amin Maalouf translated by Russell Harris

'Huck Out West' A Novel by Robert Coover

'The Years With Ross' A Memoir by James Thurber

'Stories Done" Writings on the 1960's and Its Discontents' essays by Mikal Gilmore

'Parting With Illusions' The extraordinary life and controversial views of the Soviet Union's leading commentator Memoir by Vladimir Pozner

So time goes by today quietly which I am thankful for. I am blessed beyond my imagination. I will close to pray for Ukraine and mankind.
