  • Mood:

the virtue of contemplation

It is 10:53 AM late Sunday morning here in West Michigan. It is a cold gray windy day. It has been predicted to rain and snow today. Winter is once again at the front door pounding to come in.

I got up this morning around 6 o'clock AM. I got up to find my wife reading her Bible in the living room. I got myself a glass of cold water and sat in our dining room seeking to wake up to a new week. One can not stop God's Plan of Redemption. Either you are in or you are outside the Kingdom of God.

I made for breakfast a pot of oatmeal. After Carol and I ate our mush we had devotions and prayed. I then wrote in my paper diary and got out to read, Reformed Ethics: The Duties Of The Christian Life' Volume Two By Herman Bavinck Edited By John Bolt. Carol left for church around 8:35 AM. This morning I read Bavinck, wrote in my paper diary and filmed a video for my Youtube channel. So has gone by Time.

Last night we watched college football on TV. Carol went to bed early and watched college football till 10:45 PM and went to bed. Now it is the first day of a new week.

We will watch today professional football and wait.

"[1] Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
[2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
[3] And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." First John 3:1-3

"[9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
[10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
[11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
[13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
[14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless." Second Peter 3:9-14
