It is 5:17 PM Sunday evening here in West Michigan. It has been a quiet day. Not much happened today. Carol was gone most of the afternoon visiting an elderly friend in a local Nursing Home. Carol's friend will soon be 93 years old. I wonder how long Carol and I will live.
I really did not read anything today. I looked through a Sunday National edition of The York Times newspaper throughout the day. I dozed for an hour and took some books down into the lower level. I spend many hours daydream of having all our books on bookshelves. I like to have something else on my mind besides books. I am book obsessed, which is not healthy way to be. I like to be free of all obsessions. I want to be simple. I want a simple book life, not a complex over crowded book life. I dream of having a few good books and the assurance of eternal salvation.
Carol right now is dozing in our living room easy chair. She plans to attend the evening worship service at Covenant PCA tonight. Tomorrow night she has to work. Tomorrow morning I once again start a second shift at our local library used books store The Book Nook from 10 AM till 1 PM. When I got home from the Book Nook I might find Carol sleeping.
Well I suppose I will close to wait it out. There is nothing else to report. It will soon be the month of February. We soon be in Spring time. Carol and I will have another grandchild soon, Cora Leigh. Existence keeps speeding by!
" I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." John 17:9-21
