The Slow Read Tag
There is a tag going around in BookTube called The Slow Read Tag. I have been thinking of doing this tag for a video. This morning I gathered randomly some of books I could show in such a video. Here is a list of those books for The Slow Read Tag-
The Holy Bible
'The Collected Works of St. John of the Cross' translated by Kieran Kavanaugh O.C.D. & Otilio Rodriguez
'Carthusian Spirituality: The Writings Of Hugh Of Balma And Guigo De Ponte' [The Classics Of Western Spirituality]
'The Cloud of Unknowing' author unknown 13th century English monk
'John Ruusbroec: The Spiritual Espousals And Other Works' [The Classic of Western Spirituality]
One is limit oneself to five books for the Slow Read Tag. I could have listed a ton more, but refrained myself. These are some of the other books I could have mentioned in this BookTube video-
'Into The Silent Land: A Guide to the Christian Practice of Contemplation' by Martin Laird
'A Sunlit Absence: Silence, Awareness, and Contemplation' by Martin Laird
'Sacred Reading: The Ancient Art of Lectio Divina' by Michael Casey
'Lectio Divina: the Medieval Experience of Reading' by Duncan Robertson
'Reading To Live: The Evolving Practice Of Lectio Divina' by Raymond Studzinski
'Guigo II: The Ladder Of Monks And Twelve Meditations' Translated With An Introduction By Edmund Colledge OSA And James Walsh, SJ
So it is now in the death flow 7:35 AM Friday morning. I will close to go read my books and wait out the day. Carol left this morning to after breakfast with her niece Deb and her younger brother Cal.
