I got up this morning around 6:34 AM. I got up made a pot of coffee and then messed with our main computer. I ate for breakfast a bowl of cereal. After I fooled around with our main computer I wrote in my paper diary. Now I am writing in my online diaries. I have no plans for the day ahead. I will read my books and write in my paper diary today.
Last night I made a video for my BookTube channel and read late into the night a novel I bought yesterday titled, 'The Luminaries' by Eleanor Catton.
I got out to read for morning devotions these books-
'The Spiritual Brotherhood: Cambridge Puritans and the Nature of Christian Piety' by Paul R. Schaefer Jr.
'The Works Of William Perkins' Volume 4 Edited By J. Stephen Yuille
I have been reading steadily William Perkins since last week. There are times when I can read for days and days the writings of the 16th and 17th Christian theologians/gospel ministers from England. I wonder who is reading this morning in the whole wide world 'The Works of William Perkins'. I do know there are millions and millions of people seeking the Lord Jesus. The Lord is building His Church even as I sit here writing these words.
I will close to drift into the sunset. There is no way out.
" Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." First Peter 2:1-10
