the sovereign work of God by His Spirit to lead people to Christ
It is 10:05 AM Sunday morning here by Lake Michigan. It is a very warm windy day. I am sure Lake Michigan is dangerous today for boaters. I am sure today some people will go into the rough Lake waves and drown.
I got up this morning around 6:15 AM. I got up made a pot of coffee and then messed with our main computer till 7:15 AM. After messing with our main computer I wrote in my paper diary and then read from a book titled, 'The Spiritual Brotherhood: Cambridge Puritans and the Nature of Christian Piety' by Paul R. Schaefer Jr.. When Carol got up I made for us a pot of oatmeal for breakfast. After I ate my oatmeal I read William Perkins on Jude in volume four of his Works.
Carol and I went downtown to Reader's World Bookstore to pick up Sunday newspapers and Carol had ordered some children's books that needed to be picked up. While we were at Reader's World I picked up a novel titled, 'The Luminaries' by Eleanor Catton. After Reader's World we took our dog Rudy for a walk at Kollen Park.
So the morning has gone by. Carol left for church around 10 o'clock AM. I have been reading 'The Spiritual Brotherhood' by Schaefer Jr. and writing in my online diaries.
Last night I mainly read late into the night from a book titled, 'The Spiritual Brotherhood: Cambridge Puritans and the Nature of Christian Piety' by Paul R. Schaefer Jr..
Carol goes back to work tonight so she will sleep this afternoon. I will read my books and write throughout this warm windy late Spring day. We are coming to the middle of the month this week. This week is the Friends of Library used books sale which I look forward. I love buying books for our library. One can never have enough books especially as we head for universal destruction. As Trump and the Republicans destroy America I can sit inside this house and read/write. I have a mansion just over the hilltop.
Well I will close to go write in my paper diary and read.
I'm satisfied with just a cottage below
A little silver and a little gold
But in that city where the ransomed will shine
I want a gold one that's silver lined
I've got a mansion just over the hilltop
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are purest gold
Though often tempted, tormented, and tested
And like the prophet my pillow's a stone
And though I find here no permanent dwelling
I know He'll give me a mansion my own
I've got a mansion just over the hilltop
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are purest gold
Don't think me poor or deserted or lonely
I'm not discouraged I'm heaven bound
I'm but a pilgrim in search of the city
I want a mansion, a harp and a crown
I've got a mansion just over the hilltop
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are purest gold
"[17] But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
[18] How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
[19] These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
[20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
[21] Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
[22] And of some have compassion, making a difference:
[23] And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
[24] Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
[25] To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen." Jude 1
