I volunteered at the our local library used bookstore The Book Nook from 10 o'clock AM till 1 o'clock PM today. The Book Nook was not busy so I read and wandered the store till my replacement arrived. I brought home from the Book Nook these used books to add to our library-
'Revolutionary Summer: The Birth of American Independence' by Joseph J. Ellis
'The Pencil: A History Of Design And Circumstance' by Henry Petroski
On the way home from the Book Nook I stopped at a local thrift store and found these two used books to add to our library-
'Present Shock: When Everything Happens Now' by Douglas Rushkoff
'Slouching Toward Nirvana' New Poems by Charles Bukowski
While at the Book Nook volunteering I read from these two books-
'Jesus' Son' Stories By Denis Johnson
'The Odd Woman and the City' A Memoir by Vivian Gornick
So here I sit writing in my online diaries feeling still sick with a cold. There is no much else to report this afternoon. Existence keeps decaying. The Lord Jesus is coming back soon. Are you ready to meet Him in the air?
"[13] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
[14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
[15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
[18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words." 1 Thess. 4:13-18
