I had thus far a normal day. I might of mentioned earlier that my wife and I went grocery shopping this morning. It always amazes me that when we are grocery shopping that I can buy anything I want in this giant grocery store to eat. I can buy any food items that I am in the mood to consume. That is a scary freedom when I know we are to be concern for those in the world who have nothing to eat. I am not really into food so when we are grocery shopping I let Carol determine what we are to eat through our momentary existence. I am content with basic food. I am not a big eater. My basic problem is that I eat too many flour products. I need to eat more fruits and vegetables. Carol and I do not buy junk food. There is so much non food items in a grocery store. What we need to eat are just life giving food items like apples and tomatoes for example and not candy and potato chips. I sometimes wish I could remember what we ate as children. I have no memories of our mother cooking a meal or going grocery shopping. Did we have food to eat growing up? I do not remember as a child being hungry. I did have a stomach ulcer by the time I was nine years old. I had a rough childhood. I do not think I was loved as child. I suffered a lot of verbal abuse as a child. I do not remember anyone telling me they loved me as a child.
So this day has gone by. Carol slept today and got up to get ready to go to work around 6:20 PM. She works tonight and then is off four nights. I will be glad when she is retired, even though I am sure she will still work a little after she retires. My wife enjoys being a nurse and I can not see her giving that up completely.
This evening I have been mainly reading the novel "Gods Without Men" by Hari Kunzru. I am tired so I plan to go to bed early tonight.
I suppose I will close to wander.
" The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
I am that bread of life.
Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum." John 6:41-59
