I read a short story by Raymond Carver in his book of short stories titled, "Where I'm Calling From" Stories. I got this week in the mail a used book titled, "Raymond Carver: A Writer's Life" biography by Carol Sklenicka.
Caleb and Emily left here around Noon today. Josie it seems did not mine being left here with Papa and Nonie for the night. Carol plays with Josie so she likes all the attention she gets from her Nonie. We have a ton of baby toys and a ton of children's books. Josie likes her Nonie reading books to her. Last night Carol got out her old Doll House for Josie to play with while she spends the night with us.
So this day goes by quietly. I also looked at these books while down here-
"The Journalist" a novel by Harry Matthews
"Sleeping Where I Fall" a memoir by Peter Coyote
"A Tale Of A Tub, The Battle Of The Books, And Other Satires" by Jonathan Swift [Everyman's Library- 347]
Also while being down here waiting for baby Josie to wake up from a nap I watched videos in YouTube. I could make a video for my BookTube channel today. Right now I feel sleepy and I need to brush my teeth. I wonder what came in the mail today.
A BookTuber today mentioned that the writer Harry Matthews died on January 25, 2017. I have only one novel by Harry Matthews in our book collection. Raymond Carver died when he was only 50 years old. I am 64 years old. This coming Sunday my wife will turned 64 years old. I could happily spend eternity with my wife and never stop loving her and wanting to be near her. To me true love never dies or ceases. Marriage is forever and ever. I do not believe in breaking the marriage covenant.
This morning Caleb, Emily, and Josie got here around 10:30 AM. They ate food that Carol had prepared for a big breakfast. Caleb and Emily seem to be doing OK to all outward appearances. Little Josie Joy is growing fast and is a happy baby. Josie will be three years old this year. When Caleb was three years old we were moving to Jackson Mississippi to attend Reformed Theological Seminary. Our son Josie was only a baby when we moved to Jackson Miss. Our last child Bethany was born in Jackson Miss. Next month Bethany will give birth to their third child baby Jack. Life keeps zooming by!
So here I sit down in the lower level waiting for Josie to wake up from a nap so I can bring our dog Rudy back upstairs. Tomorrow is a Saturday. I suppose I will close to wait.
