the signs of impending global disaster are too clear to be overlooked

It is now in the flow 2:34 PM Saturday afternoon. I left for the library book nook around 9:40 AM this morning. It was quiet at the book nook today, so I read a book I had brought with me. I brought home these used books from the book nook to ADD to our library-

"Corridors Of Power" a novel by C.P. Snow

"The Affair" a novel by C.P. Snow

"Homecoming" a novel by C.P. Snow

"The Masters" a novel by C.P. Snow

"The Light And The Dark" a novel by C.P. Snow

"Strangers and Brothers" a novel by C.P. Snow

I got home from the library book nook around 1:15 PM. Carol was gone because she is working today from 12 o'clock Noon till 8 o'clock PM. I ate lunch and wrote in my paper diary. Not much else to report this afternoon.

I should mention before signing off that while at the library used books store when not helping people I read some more of the novel "The Great Fire" by Shirley Hazzard.

Below one can read an interview with the writer Shirley Hazzard published in the Paris Review-

I ... don't read as much as I used to. I guess the internet took place of my then voracious book appetite.
voracious book appetite
For me reading is necessary in order to keep living in this insane dead world. If I was to stop reading I would die spiritually and intellectually. I would be among the walking dead.
