I have had a quiet day. I did not get shot and killed by a terrorist today. I have mainly read today THE DARK NIGHT by St. John of the Cross.
I did leave the house early this afternoon to buy a fresh five pound of coffee beans and visit local thrift stores to look for any used books to add to our library. I found one used book on the history of South Africa to add to our library. I did get in the mail a used book I had ordered titled, "Sexual Anarchy: Gender And Culture At The Fin De Siecle" by Elaine Showalter.
My wife works the next three nights and then flies out to the Southwest this coming Thursday afternoon to visit our daughter Beth and her family. I will be alone for seven days here in my cell. I will spend those seven days in a state of contemplative silence. I have noticed the last couple of months I love just sitting before the Lord in contemplative silence/a loving awareness of God.
I do help this week at the Friends of Library used books sale Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I also might help next Monday, the last day of the used books sale.
Well, not much else to report right now. I suppose I will close to wait it out. I am not going anywhere.
