faith finds unmerited grace in the crucified Christ

It is in the flow of my life 5:49 PM Wednesday night. My wife just left for work. I am once again alone with Jonny and their dog Rudy Vincent Keen.

I had a super quiet day reading my books and writing in my paper diary. This afternoon as I was looking out our front window I spotted a dead squirrel in our street. I went outside and took the poor fellow into our back yard and buried him or her. I did not want the little fellow to get run over again.

Not much else to report this evening. There is nothing on TV worth watching. I have stopped watching TV in the evenings. I do watch some TV shows with my wife when she is home. I rather write in my diary or read my books at night. I also have a ton of music to listen to. And I can also just sit in silence at night. Why do anything. It is OK just to be still and listen to silence.

I mainly read this afternoon and early evening this book, "Transforming Conversion: Rethinking The Language and Contours Of Christian Initiation" by Gordon T. Smith.

Tomorrow morning at 7 o'clock AM I take my old Dodge van into a near by car repair shop to have the oil changed. My wife and I are talking about getting a new car in the near future and getting rid of my old van. I will have Carol's present car and she will get herself a new car. I hate to get rid of my old van because it contains many good memories along with some bad ones. But the van is getting old and it is not dependable for long drives. I mainly drive the van short distances in town. I keep in the van my ten speed in case I have to ride home if the van was to die on me someplace here in town.

Well I suppose I will close to face the approaching darkness.

"[24] Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
[25] Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
[26] Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
[27] To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
[28] Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
[29] Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily." Colossians 1:24-29
