practical godliness

It is in the flow of the Last Days 6:06 PM Thursday evening Eastern Standard Time. I have had a normal day thus far. I mainly read all afternoon the novel, "The Mighty Walzer" by Howard Jacobson.

Earlier this afternoon I posted a video from YouTube about the four blood moons that have occurred recently in the sky and what some Christians believe these blood moons symbolize prophetically. Carol said to me I should tell folks in LiveJournal I do not believe what these so-called modern (false) prophets are saying. I post all kinds of stuff in my LiveJournal with a hope that my readers will examine the Scriptures so as to discover what the Bible truly teaches about the events of the Last Days. I hope my readers do not really think I follow or believe everything I post in my online diaries. In my online diary I seek to post things that will provoke people to think or at least question what they personally believe. (I am a student of Apocalypticism.)

I personally do not have a complex view of End Time Events. I personally believe after death Christians go to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who are not Christians go someplace else/Hades to wait for the Final Day of Judgement. I believe there is a Final Resurrection. I believe the Lord Jesus is coming back to bring in a New Creation. But I have no time table for when these End Time events are going to occur. I do not hold to the view that the visible Church will be raptured out on the earth before a seven year Tribulation period. If anything I hold that we are in the Tribulation period now and that sometime in the future the Lord Jesus will come to bring in the Kingdom of God/New Creation forever. What I see to be important as a Christian is that we be ready to meet the Lord Jesus when He comes. As a Christian I am to live each day as it could be my last. Christians are just traveling through this weary world with their eyes fixed on the Life to Come/Heaven/the New Creation. For me I am more concern with practical godliness then what so-called modern (false) prophets teach about the four blood moons.

So the evening goes by. There is nothing on TV worth watching this evening. So I will read my books and then go to bed early. Existence keeps speeding by.

"[1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
[2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
[3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
[4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
[5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
[6] And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
[7] And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
[8] (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
[9] The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished" 2 Peter 2:1-9
