used books bought 8/19/2015

I visited thrift stores today and found these used books to ADD to our book collection.

"From A High Place: A Life Of Arshile Gorky" biography by Matthew Spender

"The End Of Empire: Attila The Hun & The Fall Of Rome" by Christopher Kelly

"The Hours" a novel by Michael Cunningham (I already had this novel but this is a nice hardback edition whereas my old one is a paperback.)

"Jack London And His Daughters" a memoir by Joan London

"Children Of God" science fiction by Mary Doria Russell

"Capote: A Biography" by Gerald Clarke

"Love Is Strange" a novel by Joseph Connolly

"A Dry White Season" a novel by Andre Brink

"Hiroshima" non-fiction by John Hersey

"Death to the Death of Poetry: Essays, Reviews, Notes, Interviews" by Donald Hall

"Only Love Can Break Your Heart" essays by David Samuels

"Delmore Schwartz" biography by Richard McDougall

"The Lambs of London" a novel by Peter Ackroyd

"Staying Up Much Too Late: Edward Hopper's Nighthawks and the Dark Side of the American Psyche" by Gordon Theisen

"A Short History of Rudeness: Manners, Morals, and Misbehavior in Modern America" by Mark Caldwell

"Four Hands" a novel by Paco Ignacio Taibo II (Translated By Laura C. Dail)

"Degas beyond Impressionism" Art History by Richard Kendall

What I spent on these used books would cost you two Sunday newspapers. It is amazing what books you can buy for a couple of dollars at thrift stores! What one spends for a new book in your average bookstore could buy you 20 used books maybe more from thrift stores.
