Carol and I went grocery shopping after she got back from seeing our Tax Man. After grocery shopping we visited a thrift store so I could look at their used books. I found two used books to add to our library-
"A Good House" a novel by Bonnie Burnard
"Capital" a novel by John Lanchester
This afternoon we are driving over to Grand Rapids to visit bookstores and then have an early dinner with our oldest son Caleb and his wife Emily and baby Josephine Joy.
Not much else to report. Today I have been wondering if I am in the mood to read "The Collected Works of St. John of the Cross". I have been reading the writings of St. John of the Cross since 1970/45 years. I am getting to be an old man. I should have a copy of "The Collected Works of St. John of the Cross" buried with me. The writings of St. John of the Cross have spiritual blessed me many times over the years. I highly recommend the writings of St. John of the Cross. To be completely honest I can not think of one Protestant I would recommend reading for spiritual enrichment.
