the captive mind

It is in the flow of time 1:38 PM Wednesday afternoon. This morning I left the house to visit thrift stores in search of used books to add to our book collection. I found these used books today to add to our library-

"Field Notes From Elsewhere: Reflections On Dying And Living" Memoir by Mark C. Taylor

"In Search Of Ireland" a travel memoir published first in 1930 by H. V. Morton

"The Rural Life" Memoir/Essays by Verlyn Klinkenborg

"The Voice Of Experience" by R. D. Laing

"1491: New Revelations Of The Americas Before Columbus" by Charles C. Mann

"All Passion Spent" a novel by Vita Sackville-West

"Culture And Imperialism" essays by Edward W. Said

When I drove up into our driveway I spotted a hawk perched on our neighbor's rail fence, so I grabbed a camera and took some pictures of him. I turned off the engine of our car to watch this hawk and take pictures. I was wondering why he had not flown off when I drove up. Then I noticed when I small bird flew into a bush on the edge of our house/garage door the hawk took off and landed on top of the bush seeking to get the bird. The hawk failed to catch the bird and flew off.
