Here some notes from what I read from Fee's book in 1 Corinth 1:21,22-
"This confirmation is the outflow of his having already "anointed" us, that is, having "sealed" us by giving us the Holy Spirit as God's down payment on our sure future" pg. 289 Fee
". . . has Spirit, who is also the present guarantor of the final eschatological glory" pg. 289
"Christ is the one who previously had anointed ("christed") believers by giving them the Holy Spirit" pg. 289 Gordon Fee
"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession unto the praise of his glory" Ephesians 1:13,14
"For Paul the gift of the Spirit is the first part of the redemption of the whole person, the beginning of the process that will end when believers assume "spiritual" bodies (=enter into a mode of existence determined solely by the Spirit: see 1 Cor 15:44)." pg. 293 Gordon Fee
I am still reading Fee's comments on 2 Corinthians 1:21,22.
It has been a long day today. I plan to be in bed before the moon gets too high in the night sky.
I received by UPS this evening a book I had ordered titled, "Salvation Applied By The Spirit: Union with Christ" by Robert A. Peterson. I am thinking of ordering Peterson's book, "Salvation Accomplished by the Son: The Work of Christ" soon. Might as well get this volume since this is the second volume of three part series titled, Theology in Community.
Well, I do not know what else to report. Tomorrow is a Friday. I have nothing to do tomorrow super important. Existence keeps speeding by! "And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints" 1 Thess. 3:12,13.
