I have nothing to do today worth doing. Existence keeps decaying. "Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness." 2 Peter 3:13.
I got up this morning around 6:35 AM. I did not want to get up, but my brain was awake so I got up to face my day to day life. I could be homeless and with no one who loves me. I got up and warmed up coffee I made for Carol last night. I then got ready to make a fresh pot of coffee for later.
I then took my cup of coffee over to our main computer to read Yahoo News, music reviews and blogs. I also checked for e-mail and checked out my Facebook site. I am not a popular individual in the world of social media.
After messing with our main computer I made myself some oatmeal for breakfast. After breakfast I wrote a couple of pages in my paper diary. I then read these books for morning worship-
"Rediscovering Paul: An Introduction to His World, Letters and Theology" by David B. Capes, Rodney Reeves and E. Randolph Richards
"Paul And The Faithfulness Of God" Parts I & II by N. T. Wright Volume 4 [Origins And The Question Of God series]
Carol called around 8:35 AM for me to pick her up at the hospital (my wife is a night nurse at a local community hospital). Carol has gone to bed for the day so once again I am alone with my thoughts and the snow.
Last night I watched television and read till late into the night a book titled, "A New Heaven and a New Earth: Reclaiming Biblical Eschatology" by J. Richard Middleton.
So outside this morning it is snowing. The house is quiet. I suppose I will close to drift. I already cleaned the kitchen and fed the birds. I already read my books and wrote in my paper diary. Now what to do to kill time. I suppose I will close to wait it out in silence or maybe read something. Existence keeps speeding by. No way of escape.
" This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness." Second Peter 3:1-13
