her longing for the inaccessible ultimately leads to dehumanization

It is 4:12 PM late Tuesday afternoon. It rained this afternoon, but now the sun is out once again.

I have had a quiet afternoon. I can't seem to get into anything today. I suppose I am tired inwardly. This old world has gotten me down. I remember these words of the Psalmist (King David), "Rivers of water run down from my eyes, because men do not keep Your law" Psalm 119:136.

All I have attempted to read this afternoon is a book titled, "The Novels Of Flaubert: Study Of Themes And Techniques" by Victor Brombert. I might get out to look at this evening a book titled, "Flaubert and Madame Bovary: A Double Portrait" by Francis Steegmuller.

I suppose there is nothing else to write. I suppose I will close to drift.
