I did volunteer at the Herrick Public Library used book store from 1 PM till 3 PM today. I covered for a volunteer at the book nook today. When book nook volunteers can't do their shift I am one of the substitutes who is asked if I could take their shift for them. I do not mine doing extra shifts at the library book nook, because I like being around books. I am usually not doing anything so it is no big deal for me to go down to the library used book store and hang out for a couple of hours. I can read my books here at home or down at the library used books store. We only live five minutes from the Herrick Public Library downtown Holland Michigan. I love libraries. I love our home library. I love books. I love the Word of God.
While at the book nook when not helping people I read my new Reformation Commentary On Scripture "John 1-12". I brought home from the book nook one used book to add to our library titled, "A Shooting Star" a novel by Wallace Stegner. I collect the writings of the American writer Wallace Stegner. I think I have every book Stegner wrote except his book "Remembering Laughter". I picked up at the Fourth of July Used Book we recently attended Wallace Stegner's book "Joe Hill: A Biographical Novel". I find it interesting that the writer Ken Kesey sat in the Stanford writing program, Wallace Stegner was the director of this writing program (cf. pg. 52 from the book "Acid Christ: Ken Kesey, LSD, and The Politics of Ecstasy" by Mark Christensen.)
Carol is upstairs watching television. I am tired and came down here to read and write. Well I will close to go into the darkness. Tomorrow is a Friday. Existence keeps speeding by!
