all the Gospels point to Christ

It is 4:16 PM late Friday evening. I am down in the lower level messing with my computers. All our computers are now acting strange. I am tempted to go buy a new computer this summer. We can not for some unknown reason get any of our computers working properly. What is really strange is that nobody can locate the reason why our computers are not working smoothly. Next month our son-in-law Andy will be visiting us with our daughter Beth and our granddaughter Louisa Mae, maybe Andy can fix our computers while they are here. One can always dream.

I took a nap this afternoon. Right now I feel awake, but all of a sudden I do not want to write anything. I had all this stuff on my mind that I wanted to write down and now it all seems pointless.

I cataloged all the used books I bought today and put them away down here in the lower level. Carol thinks we are going to run out of room for used books. I might have to start putting books on the bed down here and then the sofa.

I wanted to mention that I received in the mail yesterday the new Reformation Commentary on the Gospel of John chapters 1 through 12. The book is titled, "John 1-12" New Testament IV Reformation Commentary On Scripture Edited By Craig S. Farmer. I have been reading off and on another volume in this series titled, "Acts" New Testament VI Reformation Commentary On Scripture Edited By Esther Chung-Kim And Todd R. Hains. Last night as our neighbors were setting off fireworks I read these commentaries for evening worship. As our neighbors were worshiping the gods of America by offering it fire I was seeking the face of the Lord Jesus Christ the King of glory. I am surrounded by the living dead.

Well I suppose I will close to wait for the coming darkness.

I forgot to mention that last year I bought this book on the Gospel of John that I need to read, "A Theology Of John's Gospel And Letters: The Word, the Christ, the Son of God" by Andreas J. Kostenberger [Biblical Theology Of The New Testament].

"[14] And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
[15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
[19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
[20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
[21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." John 3:14-21
