a glimpse of Zion's glory

It is 1:23 PM Monday afternoon in the flow of existence. I am home from helping once again at the Friends of the Library used books sale. I left the house this morning around 9:30 AM and got home around 1:10 PM. I found some more used books while helping at the books sale. Here is a list of the used books I bought today for our library.

"After Henry" essays by Joan Didion

"Fifth Business" a novel by Robertson Davies

"Bitter Lemons" travel by Lawrence Durrell

"The Crazy Iris and Other Stories of the Atomic Aftermath" Edited and with an Introduction by Kenzaburo Oe

"Jackson Pollock: Meaning And Significance" by Claude Cernuschi

"Ronsard" by D. B. Wyndham Lewis

"Nabokov: His Life in Art" by Andrew Field

"A Life In Our Times" A Memoir by John Kenneth Galbraith

"Freud: Conflict and Culture" Essays on his life, work, and legacy Edited by Michael S. Roth

"The World Of Lawrence: A Passionate Appreciation" by Henry Miller

"Paula" A Memoir by Isabel Allende

"A Glimpse Of Sion's Glory: Puritan Radicalism In New England 1620-1600" by Philip F. Gura (I recently read Gura's book, "Truth's Ragged Edge: The Rise of the American Novel". I highly recommend Gura's book, "American Transcendentalism: A History".)

"Arthur & George" A Novel by Julian Barnes

I saw other used books while helping at the used books sale, but ran out of cash. There is always tomorrow to buy more books.

Well, there is not much else to report. It is a hot day so we turned on our central air this morning. I already ate lunch today at the library. There is nothing for me to do now but catalog my books into my LibraryThing site. Existence keeps flowing by.
