to achieve perfection

It is 10:59 AM Sunday morning here in West Michigan. It is another hot early Summer day. I filmed a video this morning for my Youtube channel and I simply want to list the books I showed in this video-

'The Life Of Jesus Christ' Part One Volume 2, Chapters 41-92 by Ludolph of Saxony Translated By Milton T. Walsh

'Trouble of Mind and the Disease of Melancholy' by Timothy Rogers (1658-1728)

'The Life Of Jesus Christ' Part One Volume 1, Chapters 1-40 by Ludolph of Saxony Translated And Introduction By Milton T. Walsh

'The Life Of Jesus Christ' Part Two Volume 1, Chapters 1-57 by Ludolph of Saxony Translated By Milton T. Walsh

'Mrs. Adams In Winter: A Journey In The Last Days Of Napoleon' by Michael O'Brien

'The Selected Letters of Ralph Waldo Emerson' Edited By Joel Myerson

'Emerson In His Journals' Selected and edited by Joel Porte

'An American Procession: The Major American Writers from 1830-1930-The Crucial Century' by Alfred Kazin

"[34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
[35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
[36] And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
[37] He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
[38] And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
[39] He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it." Matthew 10:34-39

we weep for the evil we have done

It is 3:59 PM late Sunday afternoon. It is a very hot day today. Everything is withering outside. I need to go out back this evening and water the plant kingdom.

I have basically spent all day writing in my paper diary and reading from a book titled, 'The Life of Jesus Christ' Part One, Volume 2, Chapters 41-92 by Ludolph of Saxony. I just put away my paper diary and the book 'The Life of Jesus Christ' to write a few words in my online diaries.

There is really nothing to write. Carol will soon be leaving for a showing and then to Covenant PCA for their evening worship service. I plan to spent the evening hours drifting.

I got up this morning around 5:50 AM and have been going strong all day reading Medieval Mystical Theology and writing pages in my paper diary. Carol went to church this morning and did not get home till 12:10 PM. She was late getting home from church because she got to talking to people. My wife loves to talk.

I have no plans for the new week ahead of us. Life just keeps zooming by. It has been predicted to be hot all week here in West Michigan. I will close to wait for night to fall.

I saw the cross of Jesus

I saw the cross of Jesus,
When burdened with my sin,
I sought the cross of Jesus,
To give me peace within;
I brought my soul to Jesus,
He cleansed it in His blood;
And in the cross of Jesus
I found my peace with God.

I love the cross of Jesus,
It tells me what I am—
A vile and guilty creature,
Saved only through the Lamb;
No righteousness, nor merit,
No beauty I can plead;
Yet in the cross of glory,
My title there I read.

I clasp the cross of Jesus
In every trying hour,
My sure and certain refuge,
My never failing tower;
In every fear and conflict,
I more than conqueror am;
Living I’m safe, or dying,
Thro’ Christ, the risen Lamb.

Sweet is the cross of Jesus!
There let my weary heart
Still rest in peace unshaken,
Till with Him, ne’er to part;
And then in strains of glory
I’ll sing His wondrous power,
Where sin can never enter,
And death is known no more.
