December 20th, 2020

there we will rest in God's essence, which surpasses our essence

It is 1:42 PM Sunday afternoon here in West Michigan. I have been watching professional football this afternoon. I decided to write something in my online diaries before the day comes to a close. Last night I did not write in my online diaries till it was almost time for me to sink the ship.

Right now it is cold and partly sunny outside. I can hear once in awhile a cold wind blowing. Carol is taking a nap and there is a football game on the TV. I have been reading from these books today-

'Sweet Communion: Trajectories of Spirituality from the Middle Ages through the Further Reformation' by Arie de Reuver

'The Imitation Of Christ' by Thomas a Kempis

'The Spiritual Life' by Campegius Vitringa Translated And Edited By Charles K. Telfer

'Devotio Moderna: Basic Writings' [The Classics of Western Spirituality]

'Late Medieval Mysticism Of The Low Countries' [The Classics of Western Spiritualty]

I got up this morning around 7:30 AM and spent the morning writing in my paper diary and reading from a book titled, 'Late Medieval Mysticism Of The Low Countries' [The Classics of Western Spiritualty].

So this day goes by in slow motion. It is the last full week of the Year 2020. Next week we will be in the month of January 2021. Existence keeps zooming by. There is no way of escape. We are all trapped.

Cora all evening wanted to give me their Christmas gift to Papa (me). In the small box was a Amazon gift card.
