Mother Of The World

It is 1:52 PM Friday afternoon here in West Michigan. It is a cold sunny day. It feels like early Autumn today. Carol and I both got up this morning around 6:05 AM. I woke up early because I was too tired to stay in bed. I got up thinking I could take a nap sometime this morning. So we got up and I made a fresh pot of coffee. After making coffee and I wrote in my paper diary.

After writing in my paper diary I ate breakfast. Carol told me this morning that she was on a quest today to locate a used chair for our living room. Carol plans to have her neighborhood Woman's Book Club held here in our abode and she needed chairs for women to sit in. So this morning we went to the Eagle's Nest thrift store to look at their used chairs. We bought two old used chairs that at one time were used at a dentist office.

At this thrift store besides buying two used chairs we bought some used books. I bought these three used books-

'Madness And Civilization: A History Of Insanity In The Age Of Reason' By Michael Foucault

'The Overstory' A Novel By Richard Powers

'The Diamond Age Or, A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer' Science Fiction by Neal Stephenson

Lately when we go to thrift stores Carol usually buys a ton of used books. I have never seen my wife buy so many used books. My wife can sit down and read a novel in two days. It takes me a couple of months to read a novel.

So the day has gone by. Josie is spending the night with Noni and Papa (me). Carol and Josie just left to visit a grocery store.

Last night I watched a Swans DVD and a movie on Amazon Prime. Carol went to bed early and I went to bed around 11 o'clock PM. I mainly read yesterday 'Red Pill' A Novel By Hari Kunzru. Today I have been too tired to really read anything.

I will close to feel wasted.

Phoebe Bridgers: "Teenage Dirtbag" (Wheatus cover)

[Verse 1]
Her name is Noelle
I have a dream about her
She rings my bell
I got gym class in half an hour
Oh, how she rocks
In Keds and tube socks
But she doesn't know who I am
And she doesn't give a damn about me

[Chorus]
'Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby
Yeah, I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby
Listen to Iron Maiden, baby, with me

[Verse 2]
Her boyfriend's a dick
And he brings a gun to school
And he'd simply kick
My ass if he knew the truth
He lives on my block
And he drives an Iroc
But he doesn't know who I am
And he doesn't give a damn about me

[Chorus]
'Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby
Yeah, I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby
Listen to Iron Maiden, baby, with me

[Bridge]
Oh, yeah, dirtbag
No, she doesn't know what she's missin'
Oh, yeah, dirtbag
No, she doesn't know what she's missin'

[Verse 3]
Man, I feel like mold
It's prom night and I am lonely
Lo and behold
She's walkin' over to me
This must be fake
My lip starts to shake
How does she know who I am?
And why does she give a damn about me?
I've got two tickets to Iron Maiden, baby
Come with me Friday, don't say maybe
I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby, like you

[Outro]
Oh, yeah, dirtbag
No, she doesn't know what she's missin'
Oh, yeah, dirtbag
No, she doesn't know what she's missin'..

Phoebe Bridgers - I Know the End (Official Video)

[Verse 1]
Somewhere in Germany, but I can't place it
Man, I hate this part of Texas
Close my eyes, fantasize
Three clicks and I'm home
When I get back I'll lay around
Then I'll get up and lay back down
Romanticize a quiet life
There's no place like my room

[Chorus]
But you had to go, I know, I know, I know
Like a wave that crashed and melted on the shore
Not even the burnouts are out here anymore
And you had to go, I know, I know, I know

[Verse 2]
Out in the park, we watch the sunset
Talking on a rusty swing set
After a while you went quiet
And I got mean
I'm always pushing you away from me
But you come back with gravity
And when I call, you come home
A bird in your teeth

[Chorus]
So I gotta go, I know, I know, I know
When the sirens sound, you'll hide under the floor
But I'm not gonna go down with my hometown in a tornado
I'm gonna chase it, I know, I know, I know
I gotta go now, I know, I know, I know

[Verse 3]
Driving out into the sun
Let the ultraviolet cover me up
Went looking for a creation myth
Ended up with a pair of cracked lips
Windows down, scream along
To some America First rap country song
A slaughterhouse, an outlet mall
Slot machines, fear of God
Windows down, heater on
Big bolt of lightning hanging low
Over the coast, everyone's convinced
It's a government drone or an alien spaceship
Either way, we're not alone
I'll find a new place to be from
A haunted house with a picket fence
To float around and ghost my friends
No, I'm not afraid to disappear
The billboard said "The End Is Near"
I turned around, there was nothing there
Yeah, I guess the end is here
