It is in the ongoing death flow 9:23 AM Sunday morning here in West Michigan. It is another nice sunny pleasant day. It might get hot today, but I am not sure right now. The family left this morning to get Sunday newspapers at Reader's World and then to go over to Kollen Park for the grandchildren to run around. Carol plans to go to Covenant PCA this morning, so they all should be pulling into the driveway anytime. I am down in the lower level writing in my paper diary and reading from a book titled, 'Getting Stoned with Savages: A Trip Through the Islands of Fiji and Vanuatu' travel memoir by J. Maarten Troost. While down here I made a short video for my Booktube channel showing these books under the table that my lap top computer is sitting on-

'The Varieties of Psychedelic Experience' by R.E.L. Masters and Jean Houston, Ph.D.

'Tales of a Shaman's Apprentice: An Ethnobotanist Searches for New Medicines in the Amazon Rain Forest' by Mark J. Plotkin, Ph.D.

'Kafka Was the Rage: A Greenwich Village Memoir' by Anatole Broyard

'Storming Heaven: LSD And The American Dream' by Jay Stevens

'LSD: The Consciousness-Expanding Drug' Edited by David Solomon/Introduction by Timothy Leary, Ph.D

'The Most Dangerous Man In America: Timothy Leary, Richard Nixon, and the Hunt for the Fugitive King of LSD' biography by Bill Minutaglio & Steven L. Davis

'Psychedelic Drugs Reconsidered' by Lester Grinspoon & James B. Bakalar

'White Hand Society: The Psychedelic Partnership of Timothy Leary & Allen Ginsberg' by Peter Conners

'The Haight-Ashbury: A History' By Charles Perry

'Bear: The Life and Times of Augustus Owsley Stanley III' biography by Robert Greenfield

'Can't Find My Way Home: America In The Great Stoned Age, 1945-2000' by Martin Torgoff

'A Really Good Day: How Microdosing Made a Mega Difference in My Mood, My Marriage, and My Life' a memoir by Ayelet Waldman

'The LSD Story: The Drug That Expands the Mind' by John Cashman

'Mescal And Mechanisms Of Hallucinations' by Heinrich Kluver

'Tales of Beatnik Glory' by Ed Sanders

'With William Burroughs: A Report From The Bunker' By Victor Bockris

'Bop-Apocalyse: Jazz, Race, The Beats, & Drugs' by Martin Torgoff

It is now in the death flow 9:49 AM. I hear the troops marching into the house so I will close.

Interesting books. I find it's a bit strange that you as a minister listen to death metal. A lot of these bands are unabashedly satanic. I realize that not everyone who likes this music agrees with the philosophy they espouse, but don't you find it kind of depressing? I know you watch my channel, and not many in my audience would ever guess that I am a Christian since I never talk about it, and still have many bad habits. I believe that most are atheists, and therefore have closed their minds regarding anything that smacks of religion. The closest that I came to talking about it, was a video that I made about my experience with the occult that I had as a teenager. I think that because of the preponderance of crazy fundamentalists, prosperity heresies, and TV false prophets, people have tarred anyone who identifies as a "Christian", with a broad brush and as someone who is anti-intellectual, if not mentally ill. I don't blame them. It is sad to say, but in my experience, I have found that many atheists are indeed more trustworthy than those who loudly proclaim themselves Christian. Such people whom I have had business dealings with, have taken advantage of me, lied to me, and outright stolen from me. It reminds me of the words Gandhi spoke "I very much love your Christ, but he is so unlike Christians." Anyway, I'm rambling on now, so I will just say that I enjoy your channel and wish I could one day sit down with you and have a fascinating conversation. Be well Jonny.

I listen to all kinds of music-I read all kinds of books-I like all kinds of Art-is there demonic Art? demonic Music? demonic Literature? I find myself in Union with Christ. It is like I am watching-listening-reading-examining the world of Man going around and around me-in the center of Reality is God and me in living relationship with God-I am experiencing the world of Man-this fallen sinful world inside the living Mind of Christ-I do not believe what is set forth by Man/death metal/modernistic literature/Modern Art is Eternal Reality-but a passing image/non-reality-a part of the Death Flow. I am in a silent love relationship with the Risen Exalted Lord Jesus Christ. I am in this crazy absurd world but my heart is fixed on the New Creation-I want to go Home and be forever with the Lord. I am lost in the wonder and beauty of the Lord Jesus Christ. All is vanity! All is horse shit. The experience of Life is complex for me personally-some of what I experience will never make sense to me-I am just seeking to live in the Presence of God and there is a lot of crap spinning all around my EYE MIND HEART but I am grounded in the Essence of the Godhead/mystical union with Christ Jesus.

Thanks for sharing. In closing I think country music is demonic and also some classical music. As a Calvinist I would say a lot of popular Christian music is demonic.

I am not a gospel minister. I am a simple Christian. A wayfaring Pilgrim traveling to the heavenly City of God. I am a nobody. A Christian who does not fit in the American religious landscape. I am weird. A crazy old Elder who loves Jesus. peace

I think you misinterpreted what I meant. I was just curious about the dichotomy. I was in no way trying to pigeon hole you. I agree that most "Christian" music is nauseating too. I'm not into death metal, but Led Zeppelin and all kinds of rock that certainly does not have a Christian message. I was just asking if you found the message in death metal kind of depressing. I was not trying to pass judgement in any way. I'm sorry if you thought that.

Jonny
I like dark depressing music in general. I find death metal perfect background music for what is going on presently in America/Trump and the fallen world. In someways death metal/black metal music is more truthful than contemporary adult music etc. . . I am by nature depressed/in a black mood. Side note I tend to take everything personal but I know deep down folks are just expressing their ideas/perspectives-I find your videos very Right On!

Well Jonny, I certainly understand as I have suffered from depression my entire life. I also understand why you are sensitive to what people say. You are a spiritually enlightened man, and therefore you not only are acutely aware of your own suffering but also acutely feel the pain of others.. I think that is because we are sharing a small part in Christ's suffering. I'll let you in on a little secret. The foul mouthed cynical hard drinking guy that is Vegematic, is largely a character and not really who I am. I take the most obnoxious facets of my personality and have created a caricature of myself. It seems to make people laugh, and that makes me happy. In the end, nothing in this world can give anyone satisfaction, because it's being systematically destroyed by the evil that is in men's hearts. All is vanity.

Jonny
I have only one desire in life and that is set forth the Gospel of Christ/be Real in Christ Jesus. Not be afraid to be who I am as a lover of God. One can not in this life set forth all that we are in a video or a online diary. No matter how hard we seek to communicate divine Truth we fail/it all comes out fragmented. In the end I believe God brings sinners to repentance and saving faith. I call what I do in my videos and online diary Reality Evangelism. We are here as Christians to bear witness to the saving work of Christ displayed in the Cross/the revelation of holy Scripture/the Bible. I know I will be misunderstood or misinterpreted but that is the price for being real as a saved sinner/a lover of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am broken and not fully conformed to the image of Christ presently. My burning/heavenly hope is that through my brokenness the light of Christ will shine through me.
