crawling through broken glass on my hands and knees

It is 10:21 AM Friday morning here in West Michigan. Outside it is cold, rainy, and ugly. I am glad though it is not snowing today. I hope we do not get any more snow fall this Winter.

I got up this morning around 6:30 AM. Carol suggest we go out for breakfast so I got dressed and we left. After eating out for breakfast we went to a local grocery store to get a few food items. It is a blessing to have food in this sad weary world. I am thankful for food and a warm home. I am constantly amazed at God's goodness shown to us.

After going grocery shopping we came home. I wrote in my paper diary and have been reading for morning worship from a book titled, "Godly Prayer And Its Answers" by John Brown of Wamphray. Carol left to visit friends this morning. Carol works the next three nights. Carol wants to retire from work. When you get our age things get more difficult. Carol is getting weary of seeing suffering and death all the time as a professional nurse.

I have no plans today but drift, read, and write. I can not remember what I read last night. I do remember last night watching with Carol television shows I had taped for her. We went to bed early. Now it is another day to seek the Lord.

Well I suppose I will close since I can not think of anything else to report.

Hell or Heaven

It is 3:57 PM Friday late afternoon. I just fried three turkey burgers for my wife to eat the next three nights she is working. Outside it is wet and freezing cold. It is suppose to get warm next week. I do not remember right now if it is suppose to snow this weekend. Tomorrow I once again volunteer at the Herrick District Public Library used books store from 10 o'clock AM till 1 o'clock PM.

Today it has been once again a very quiet day for me. I mainly wrote in my paper diary, read, and watched the birds from our kitchen window. I love my quiet life! But I realize I am going to die and will have to face being judged for my life on the Day of Judgment. Death is a scary experience to contemplate as a professing Christian. When you get our age you see the people you grew up with dying. We are all going to die and either go to Hell or Heaven.

What did I read this afternoon when not bird watching? I read from these two books-

"Shakespeare And Company: A History of the Rag & Bone Shop of the Heart" Edited Krista Halverson

"Life At The Bottom: The Worldview That Makes The Underclass" by Theodore Dalrymple

I plan to make this evening a video for my BookTube channel. I do not know what else I will do the rest of this day. Time keeps flying by! I will close to wander my cell.

"[11] And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
[12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
[13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
[14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
[15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Rev. 20:11-15

What Shall Our Answer Be?

When we in the judgment stand,
In that mighty company,
And the Judge shall question us,
Oh, what shall our answers be?
What for every trifling thought,
And each idle word we say?
What for every sinful act
We may do from day to day?

Refrain

When that awful day we see,
Oh, what shall our answers be?
When that awful day we see,
Oh, what shall our answers be?

When the Lord has gathered there,
From the land and from the sea,
All the families of men,
Oh, what shall our answers be?
What for all our want of faith,
What for all our lack of love?
Can we hope a crown to gain,
And a mansion bright above?

Refrain

Lord, it is a solemn thought,
That we must account to Thee!
In that great and awful day,
What shall our poor answers be?
Oh, prepare us, Lord, we pray,
In Thy presence there to stand!
Purge us from each sinful blot;
Place us, Lord, on Thy right hand!

Refrain
