typology always has an eschatological aspect

It is in the flow 11:12 AM Wednesday morning here by Lake Michigan. It is a cold rainy day. A good day for a turkey trot. I just got up from a nap down in the lower level. I took a nap because I went to bed late last night.

I got up this morning around 7:15 AM and made a pot of oatmeal for breakfast. I drank coffee made yesterday this morning. I messed with our main computer and then I made myself some oatmeal for breakfast. After eating oatmeal I wrote in my paper diary and got out these two books for morning worship-

'Progressive Covenantalism" Charting a Course between Dispensational and Covenant Theologies" Editors: Stephen J. Wellum & Brent E. Parker

"Commentary On Hebrews" by Thomas R. Schreiner [Biblical Theology and Christian Proclamation]

Carol got home from work around 8:28 AM and has gone to bed for the day. I laid down around 9:30 AM and now it is 11:20 AM. Existence keeps zooming by. We will soon be on the other side.

Last night I do not remember. I remember listening to music and watching television. I went to bed past Midnight.

I have no plans for the day. I just made a fresh pot of coffee so I will close to read and write some more stuff in my April 2016 Diary. Life is one crazy ride to a funeral pyre.

warned against rationalistic interpretations of the Bible

It is now in the flow 2:32 PM Wednesday afternoon. It is still cold and rainy here by Lake Michigan. I have been doing the usual activities today. I love simple empty days of reading my books and being in the presence of God. I can see more and more the benefits of silence in maintaining a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

I left the house this morning to visit a thrift store down the street from us and found these used books to add to our library-

"the New Oxford Guide To Writing" by Thomas S. Kane

"The Abyssinian" a novel by Jean-Christophe Rufin (Translated by Willard Wood) (I recently bought used another novel by Jean-Christphe Rufin titled, "Brazil Red" also translated by Willard Wood.)

"Tortured Wonders: Christian Spirituality for People, Not Angels" by Rodney Clapp

"Point Omega" a novel by Don DeLillo

This afternoon in the mail I received a new biography written by Paul Mariani titled, "The Whole Harmonium: The Life of Wallace Stevens". I have two other biographies by Mariani, "Lost Puritan: A Life of Robert Lowell" and "Dream Song: The Life Of John Berryman". Wallace Stevens, Robert Lowell, and John Berryman were all Poets. I have read a lot of the poetry of Wallace Stevens and Robert Lowell.

So this cold dreary rainy day goes by. Not much else to report so I will close to read my books and revel in this quiet rain soaked day.

skyped pics of Bethany, Lou, Maggie, Hannah & Josiah

This evening Carol and I skpyed Bethany, Lou, Maggie, Hannah and Josiah. Josiah and Hannah are visiting Beth on their Spring break (Joe and Hannah are school teachers and they live in Washington.). Uncle Joe and Annie Hannah are enjoying playing with Lou and Maggie. In the photos Hannah is holding Maggie. You can see our son Josiah in the back with his Greek sailing cap on. In the pics Lou is running around crazed and our daughter Beth is smiling on the right.
