the inescapable reality of theological traditions changing over time

It is in the FLOW 8:59 AM Saturday morning. There is frozen fog around me this morning. I am thankful there is no snow on the ground here.

My wife and I just got back from grocery shopping. It is a blessing being able to buy food. I am absolutely blown away by the mercies of God showered on us! We deserve nothing from the hand of God, but damnation.

I plan to leave for the library book nook this morning around 9:45 AM. When I get home from the book nook I might watch some college football or I might sit in silence waiting it out.

Last night I decided to rest my brain and read something worldly, so I read till my bedtime the novel "Amy and Isabelle" by Elizabeth Strout. I went to bed around 10:30 PM, but hardly slept. Carol got up around 3:30 AM this morning.

There is nothing pressing on my mind this morning. I still feel inside dread and anxiousness. I am surrounded by mad men.

Well I suppose I will close to face what comes next. The Lord is faithful.

Jesus serves to mirror God

It is in the cosmic flow of the present created order 2:31 PM Saturday afternoon. The sun came out this afternoon here by Lake Michigan. It would be a nice afternoon to take a walk in the woods.

I had a normal time at the library used books store. It was not busy but I sold $41.00 dollars of used materials. When not helping people with their purchases I read with my spiritual enjoyment a book titled, "Theology and the Mirror of Scripture: A Mere Evangelical Account" by Kevin J. Vanhoozer & Daniel J. Treier. I brought home from the book nook these used books to add to our library-

"A Map Of Betrayal" a novel by Ha Jin

"Run with the Horsemen" a novel by Ferrol Sams

"The Whisper of the River" a novel by Ferrol Sams

"When All the World Was Young" a novel by Ferrol Sams

After getting out of the book nook I drove over to Simpatico Coffee to pick up a 5 lbs. bag of black and tan coffee beans we had ordered this morning. After getting the coffee beans I visited a thrift store and found two used books to add to our library-

"You Are Not Like Other Mothers" a novel by Angelika Schrobsdorff (Translated from the German by Steven Rendall) This is a book published by Europa. I collect anything published by Europa.

"The Fall" a novel by Simon Mawer (I have two other novels by Mawer in our library.)

When I got home I found Carol gone. I ate lunch and wrote in my paper diary. I have been watching off and on a college football game. Existence keeps decaying. The Lord God reigns! I will close to wait for the end of the old creation.

"[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2] The same was in the beginning with God.
[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
[5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
[6] There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
[7] The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
[8] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
[9] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
[10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
[11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
[15] John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
[16] And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
[17] For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
[18] No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." John 1:1-18

Tribulation - One Hundred Years (The Cure)

It doesn't matter if we all die
Ambition in the back of a black car
In a high building there is so much to do
Going home time
A story on the radio

Something small falls out of your mouth
And we laugh
A prayer for something better
A prayer
For something better

Please love me
Meet my mother
But the fear takes hold
Creeping up the stairs in the dark
Waiting for the death blow
Waiting for the death blow
Waiting for the death blow

Stroking your hair as the patriots are shot
Fighting for freedom on television
Sharing the world with slaughtered pigs
Have we got everything?
She struggles to get away . . .

The pain
And the creeping feeling
A little black haired girl
Waiting for Saturday
The death of her father pushing her
Pushing her white face into the mirror
Aching inside me
And turn me round
Just like the old days
Just like the old days
Just like the old days
Just like the old days

Caressing an old man
And painting a lifeless face
Just a piece of new meat in a clean room
The soldiers close in under a yellow moon
All shadows and deliverance
Under a black flag
A hundred years of blood
The ribbon tightens round my throat
I open my mouth
And my head bursts open
A sound like a tiger thrashing in the water
Thrashing in the water
Over and over
We die one after the other
Over and over
We die one after the other
One after the other
One after the other
One after the other
One after the other

It feels like a hundred years
A hundred years
A hundred years
A hundred years
A hundred years
One hundred years
