The Blood Brothers

I read this morning that the band The Blood Brothers have reunited for some shows. I have all the records of The Blood Brothers in my music collection. I also have a The Blood Brothers concert DVD.

It is a new day and I can see sunshine outside this morning. I can hear also our furnace running down in the lower depths. I am sitting at our dining room table writing on my new Samsung lap top that I bought last year in May 2013. Our main computer is a piece of crap and I finally turned it off this morning. My old lap top computer runs better than our main computer.

So it is another day. Carol left this morning to do stuff at the hospital. I was down in the lower level laying in the dark. I got up because my brain would not shut off.

I got up this morning around 6:06 AM. When I got up I made a pot of coffee and got the morning newspaper off our driveway. Carol got up soon after I did. So has gone by the morning. I have nothing important to do today, but drift.

Last night I watched television and went to bed around 10:30 PM.

I have been seeking to read these books lately-

"John 1-12" New Testament IV Reformation Commentary On Scripture Edited By Craig S. Farmer

"The Golden Epistle" by William Of St Thierry

"The Venerable Bede On the Song of Songs and Selected Writings" [The Classic Of Western Spirituality]

These days I am out of it. I could be getting bored with my books on Flaubert. Time to go on to something else maybe.

There is nothing pressing on my mind this morning. Existence keeps decaying.

a storehouse of spiritual riches

It is 3:39 PM Monday afternoon in the divine flow of redemptive history. God has already saved the cosmos at the Cross of Christ Jesus.

This afternoon Carol and I walked Rudy at Tunnel Park on the shore of Lake Michigan. The sun has been out today.

While we were driving out to Tunnel Park we stopped at a thrift store so I could look at their used books. I found these two used books to ADD to our library-

"Oneida Community: An Autobiography 1851-1876" Edited, with an Introduction and Preface, by Constance Noyes Robertson

"The Pacific And Other Stories" by Mark Helprin

Mark Helprin

In the mail this afternoon I received from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary a volume titled, "The Beauty & Glory Of Christian Living" Edited By Joel R. Beeke.

I have been reading this afternoon, "The Heartsong of Charging Elk" a novel by James Welch.

Well not much else to report so I will close to face an empty stomach.

It is now in the flow of existence 5:13 PM Monday evening. I am down in the lower level. I thought since I am down here where most of our books are that I would list the books we have by the writer Mark Helprin in our library.

"The Pacific And Other Stories" by Mark Helprin

"Refiner's Fire" a novel by Mark Helprin

"A Soldier Of The Great War" by Mark Helprin

"Winter's Tale" a novel by Mark Helprin

"Memoir from Antproof Case" a novel by Mark Helprin

"Freddy And Fredericka" a novel by Mark Helprin

I do not have the newest novel by Helprin titled, "In Sunlight and In Shadow". I found these two reviews of this novel interesting.

Well I will close to take my daily hot shower. Tonight I suppose I will watch television. Tomorrow morning I have to remember to take Rudy to the dog groomers.

All we can do is pray for grace. I remember the words of the apostle John, "If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world" John 1:10; 2:1,2
