God created and governs all things by His word

It is 9:15 AM Thursday morning in the flow. It is a cold sunny early Summer morning.

I got up this morning around 6:03 AM. Right now I feel like a ton of elephant dung.

I have nothing to do today worth doing. I have to volunteer at the Herrick Public Library used books store at 1 PM till 3 PM. That is all I have to do today.

Carol is out right now walking Rudy around the neighborhood. I have been down in the lower level laying in the dark. I came up here to write some stuff into my blogs. I try to write at least once in my blogs. I write all the time in my paper diary.

Yesterday is a blur right now. I read my books yesterday and wandered the house. I do not remember going anywhere yesterday. Last night Carol asked me if I wanted to go downtown for dinner and I said No. I do not want to go anywhere but down in the lower level and lay down in the dark. I have no energy for anything.

Well I suppose I will close. The last book I attempted to read was titled, "The Complete Works Of Isaac Babel" Edited By Nathalie Babel [Translated By Peter Constantine].

I have been reading "John 1-12" Reformation commentary when not falling asleep. I need to keep my mind filled with the holy Scriptures. We read in the apostle Paul's Letter to the Colossians, "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where God is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory" Colossians 3:1-4.

Well I will close to drift in a state of exhaustion.

that very light which Christ created in us the Father is known

It is 8:25 PM Thursday night. Another day has gone by. I had a normal day. I am feeling somewhat better tonight. Maybe the storm has passed. I am down in the lower level of our home writing on my new lap top and reading "John 1-12 New Testament IV [Reformation Commentary On Scripture] Edited By Craig S. Farmer. I have mainly read this book today because it is where my head is at. Also I need to give my brain a rest from reading about World War I and the massive killing of Jews throughout the 20th century.

I did volunteer at the Herrick Public Library used book store from 1 PM till 3 PM today. I covered for a volunteer at the book nook today. When book nook volunteers can't do their shift I am one of the substitutes who is asked if I could take their shift for them. I do not mine doing extra shifts at the library book nook, because I like being around books. I am usually not doing anything so it is no big deal for me to go down to the library used book store and hang out for a couple of hours. I can read my books here at home or down at the library used books store. We only live five minutes from the Herrick Public Library downtown Holland Michigan. I love libraries. I love our home library. I love books. I love the Word of God.

While at the book nook when not helping people I read my new Reformation Commentary On Scripture "John 1-12". I brought home from the book nook one used book to add to our library titled, "A Shooting Star" a novel by Wallace Stegner. I collect the writings of the American writer Wallace Stegner. I think I have every book Stegner wrote except his book "Remembering Laughter". I picked up at the Fourth of July Used Book we recently attended Wallace Stegner's book "Joe Hill: A Biographical Novel". I find it interesting that the writer Ken Kesey sat in the Stanford writing program, Wallace Stegner was the director of this writing program (cf. pg. 52 from the book "Acid Christ: Ken Kesey, LSD, and The Politics of Ecstasy" by Mark Christensen.)

Carol is upstairs watching television. I am tired and came down here to read and write. Well I will close to go into the darkness. Tomorrow is a Friday. Existence keeps speeding by!

only believers in Christ are regenerated by Christ

Since it is too early to go to bed I thought I would share what I last read in the book "John 1-12" Reformation Commentary On Scripture.

"Only Believers In Christ Are Regenerated By Christ. Johannes Brenz: John was a true light, but Christ was the true light, illuminating every believing human. But there is an antithesis here between the light of this world and the light of Christ. For the sun, which is the visible light of this world, certainly illuminates, but only those who have eyes and can see. The blind it always leaves blind. But Christ is not only an external light but also both an eye and light, providing light to the blind that he may direct their steps from sin, death and extreme darkness to righteousness and eternal life. Furthermore, because he says, "He enlightens every human being coming into the world," you must not think that every human being, no matter how many there are, were or will be, will be illumined by Christ. "For not all human beings have faith." "Few are chosen." Only a remnant is being saved. But this statement must be understood as a mode of argument. For John is writing about regeneration, which is accomplished by Christ. And therefore when he says that every human being is illumined by Christ, he is including only those who are regenerated by the Spirit and who believe, so that afterwards he explains himself, saying, "He gave power to become children of God," namely, those who had believed in his name, not to the unbelieving. Scripture makes frequent use of these ways of speaking. . ." pg. 23
