prepare for Chinese invasion of the west coast part 2

Yesterday I posted a video of this fellow sharing with the world his visions of the future. When I told my wife I had posted this video on biblical prophecy she asked do the people who read you think you actually believe this fellow's understanding of the Last Days. I answered my wife I do not know if my readers think I believe this fellow's prophecies. I do believe myself as a Christian there is no revelation outside of Scripture the Bible. I feel extremely uncomfortable when this fellow in these videos tells us the Lord revealed to him personally what is going to happen in the future. In the Bible we have all we need to know about the future. The Bible does not give us a detailed account of the Last Days like Russian sending submarines to attack the East Coast. No where in the Bible is New York City called Babylon the Great for example.

In these prophecy videos the fellow is always quoting The Book of Daniel (OT) and The Revelation of Jesus Christ (NT). These writings of the Bible are very hard to interpret and interpreters have for centuries wrestled to understand some portions of these biblical writings. Bible interpreters call these writings apocalyptic literature.

I personally believe that there is taught in the Bible the end of this present evil age. I believe in the Return of the Lord Jesus Christ at the end of this age. Now what are all the events that will take place on earth before the Lord's return is unknown. But it does say for example in 2 Thessalonians "Let no one deceive you by any means; that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God" 2 Thess. 2:3,4. The Bible talks about "the man of sin" of the "son of perdition" that will be seen in the Last Days. Now is this a real man or any world leader that exalts himself above the rule of God "who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God"? The text says this man of sin "sits as God in the temple of God". We know there is no temple of God on earth only in the spiritual realm. Maybe what these verses are talking about is that in the Last Days there will manifested false religion/false prophets/ what is known as antichrist. We read in First John "Little children, It is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that is is the last hour" 1 JN 2:18.

What I would emphasis when talking about the Last Days is very simple. I would quote from the Bible that tells us how we are to live in the light of the end of this present evil age. What I am concerned about as a Christian is not seeking to interpret in great detail the Book of Daniel but Christian ethics. How are we to live in the light of the Second Coming of Christ. I am concerned about Christian holiness. Let's talk about practical godly living. We read in Second Peter, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells" 2 Peter 3:10-13.

we felt humbled by the eagle flight with which he soared through intellectual space

It is 8:20 AM Friday morning. In my last entry I did not go into what I have been doing lately. Yesterday I mainly read and wandered the house. Around 3 o'clock PM yesterday I mowed our lawn. When I was done mowing our lawn I cleaned up. Carol got up around 4 o'clock PM yesterday and we went grocery shopping. We got home from grocery shopping around 6:45 PM. We watched television and went to bed around 11 o'clock PM last night. (While Carol and I were putting in the back of our car our groceries four bald eagles flew over us.)

Yesterday as we headed to a grocery store we stopped at a auto repair shop to ask about my van. They could find nothing wrong with my van so after grocery shopping Carol dropped me off at the auto repair shop and I drove the van home. Now I have wheels once again.

I have been mainly reading these books lately.

"The World of Yesterday" A Memoir by Stefan Zweig [Newly translated by Anthea Bell]

"Updike" a biography by Adam Begley

I have been seeking to read these books on the Acts of the Apostle (NT).

"Acts: An Exegetical Commentary Introduction And 1:1-2:47" Volume 1 by Craig S. Keener

"The Acts of the Risen Lord Jesus: Luke's account of God's unfolding plan" by Alan J. Thompson

"Acts and the Isaianic New Exodus" by David W. Pao

"The Acts Of The Apostles" [The Pillar New Testament Commentary] by David G. Peterson

"Acts" [Baker Exegetical Commentary On The New Testament] by Darrell L. Bock

"A Theology Of Luke And Acts: God's Promised Program, Realized for All Nations" by Darrell L. Bock

I do not know why lately I can not get into my books on Acts. I am still meditating on what I last read in Acts. I might try to read this morning one of the above books on the Acts of the Apostle. I will quote Acts chapter 3 in light of what I wrote earlier about the Last Days. "But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began" Acts 3:18-21.

Kollen Park Lake Macatawa

This morning Carol and I took Rudy for a walk at Kollen Park by Lake Macatawa. Kollen Park is near downtown Holland where we live out our lives.

After walking Rudy we did errands. While doing errands we stopped at a thrift store so I could look at their used books. I found one used book titled, "The Mask Of Apollo" a novel by Mary Renault. I recently bought used another novel by Renault titled "The Last Of The Wine".

Carol left late this morning to have a lunch with friends. I plan to drift through the day. I need to put a bag of dirt on my wildflower patch of ground in our backyard today. I thought about visiting some more thrift stores today, but I think it is time for me to lay low. I need to go into a contemplative state. I need to slow down my mental processes.

Well I will close. These verses from the Gospel of Matthew come to my mind, "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming" Matthew 25:13.
